Chad vs Jim: NFL Championship Round Playoff Picks

By Jim Ingram
Fan Fanatic Sports Staff
Well, last week was a disastrous week in the NFL playoffs for me, and for many reasons. Of course the main reason is the Patriots loss to the Jets, but it also hurt to 1-3 on the weekend with my picks. Chad fared better with a 2-2 record left. I now have a 1 game lead as I am 4-4 and Chad is 3-5. This week will not help as we are picking the same teams. See below and make sure you check for our Super Bowl picks in two weeks.

Chad vs Jim: NFL Wild Card Weekend & Super Bowl Picks

By Jim Ingram
Fan Fanatic Sports Staff
Well, now that I've successfully beaten Chad in the regular season, we get down to the truly important time of the year. Yes, I mean the NFL Playoffs. I finished the regular season with a record of 145-77, a .653 winning percentage. Chad finished with a record of 131-91, a .590 winning percentage. Both records are very, very strong nationally. The playoffs are an entirely different beast. This weekend there are only 4 games, and Chad and I differ on two of them. Please see below for our picks, and then read on to see our Superbowl picks.

Now, onto our Superbowl picks. Both Chad and I pick the The Atlanta Falcons to play the New England Patriots. Chad says the Patriots will win the game 31-20 and Tom Brady will be the MVP. I also pick the Patriots to beat the Falcons, but by a score of 34-30 in a close fought game. I also pick Tom Brady as my MVP.
Well, make sure to check back next week for the Divisional round picks.
Hope you enjoy

Week 17 Picks: Chad vs Jim

By Jim Ingram
Fan Fanatic Sports Staff
Welcome to the regular season finale that is Week 17. Chad and I differ on only 4 games, so it's a lock that I won the season face off. I'll be the first to say that Chad knows far more about football than I do, so I am very surprised and humbled that I have bested him. I take a record of 134-72 and a 14 game lead into week 17 against Chad's record of 120-86. Fan Fanatic Sports will be running a Fantasy Football Playoff Challenge, so please email jingram221@hotmail.com if you'd like to join and get more information. Please stay tuned during the playoffs as Chad and I will be making our predictions and weekly picks as well. So long and thanks for a great season!

Chad vs Jim: Week 16

By Jim Ingram
Fan Fanatic Sports Staff
Well, we now have just two weeks left in the season. Fortunately for Chad, he picked up his first weekly win of the year last week. Entering week 16, Chad is now 112-78 and I have a record of 125-65 with a 13 game lead. Regardless of the standings between the two of us, we are still much better than the ESPN "experts" in picking games. Don't believe me? Go check their records on the World Wide Leader's site. Now onto this week. Chad and I have 5 games that are different, and the interesting thing is that all 5 games have playoff implications.

Week 15 Picks: Chad vs Jim

By Jim Ingram
Fan Fanatic Sports Staff
It's been a good year for me to pick games straight up, and I am very happy with a 14 game lead over Chad with just 3 weeks to go in the season. I do not feel comfortable because my hot streak can only last so long, and all Chad needs to do is get a big week to get back in the game. We differ on 7 games this week, as you'll see below, so he can certainly chip away at that lead. For the season, Chad is 102-72 and I am 116-58. If you're interested to see how Chad and I stack up against the "Experts" from ESPN, go and look at their records. I think it's safe to say we easily go toe to toe with them, and often hammer them week to week.

Week 14 Picks: Chad vs Jim

By Jim Ingram
Fan Fanatic Sports Staff
It's just about time Chad starts going against the grain to try and gain some ground now that he's 11 games back in the standings. Including this week, he has only 4 weeks left to make a real push to get back in the game. We're both doing pretty well overall as I have a record of 1014-54 and Chad is 93-65. If you look at the "experts" from many of the big boy websites, we're doing better than them. This week Chad and I differ on 7 games. Not too surprised on some of these though.
Take a look

Week 13 Picks: Chad vs Jim

By Jim Ingram
Fan Fanatic Sports Staff
First off, there is a correction from Chad's picks for last week. He meant to pick the Texans instead of the Titans. Full disclosure here. What that really does is give me an 11 game lead instead of 12. Hopefully that doesn't come back to haunt me. Of course that means nothing this week as we differ on only 2 games. Not much ground to be made up here.

Philadelphia Eagles

Week 12 Picks: Chad vs Jim Thanksgiving Day Games

By Jim Ingram
Fan Fanatic Sports Staff
Chad and I had a nice start to week 12 going 3 for 3 on Thanksgiving. What that means, is I still have an 8 game lead. We both had good weeks in week 11, but I was able to add 2 games to my lead as I had a stellar 12-3 week. There's still a lot of time left for Chad to make a run, so no lead is safe, especially since we differ on a whopping 8 games this week. Now we need to see what happens.

Week 11 Picks: Chad vs Jim

By Jim Ingram
Fan Fanatic Sports Staff
Somehow I was still able to edge Chad, once again, last week. We both didn't have great weeks, I went 8-5 while Chad went 7-6, but look to rebound this week. We only differ on two games so unless Chad wins both, it looks like it'll be another draw type of week for the two of us. I was able to pick up a game last week, which extends my season lead by 6. I am now 67-44 and Chad is 61-50. Make sure to check on Thursday, as we will be posting our picks for the 3 Thanksgiving games.

Week 10 Picks: Chad vs Jim

By Jim Ingram
Fan Fanatic Sports Staff
With the two of us disagreeing on 4 games last week, both teams had a chance to pull away or get back in the game. Unfortunately for Chad, we split, so we keep the 5 game difference. This week, we disagree on 3 games, so there will be at least a one game difference. Chad and I had solid 10-3 weeks in week 9, so we look to start a hot streak after mediocre results in week 7 & 8.

Week 9 Picks: Chad vs Jim

By Jim Ingram
Fan Fanatic Sports Staff
It's week 9, pretty much the halfway point of the season, and I still have a 5 game lead over Chad. With so many games to be picked, that really means nothing. This week we differ on 4 games, so there's a chance I could run away with it, or Chad could get right back in.

Week 8 Picks: Chad vs Jim

By Jim Ingram
Fan Fanatic Sports Staff
Another week, another win for Big Jim. I am now 42-30, a decent 12 games over .500. Chad, now 5 games behind in the season standings, is 37-35. As usual, there are only two games that differ between us. We obviously think along the same lines on most of these games. With the exception of one week, we've both been pretty good as there haven't been too many shockers in one given week.

Week 7 Picks: Chad vs Jim

By Jim Ingram
Fan Fanatic Sports Staff
It's Sunday morning, so that means it's time to unveil the FFS weekly NFL picks by Chad Garner and Jim Ingram. I am the current leader with a 3 game edge over Chad. So far I am 33-25 on the year as Chad is now 30-28. After a disastrous week 5, both of us rebounding in week 6 picking 10 out of 14 winners. Just like the past two weeks, there are only 2 picks that differ between the two of us.

Week 6 Picks: Chad vs Jim

By Jim Ingram
Fan Fanatic Sports Staff
Well, week 5 was pretty bad for the both of us, and anyone else except Las Vegas. This week should be a little more straight forward. Even after the terrible week, I have a 3 game lead over Chad, but with us picking every game it's easy to make up several games. Just like last week, there are only two differences in our picks. We definitely think too much alike.

Week 5 Picks: Chad vs Jim

By Jim Ingram
Fan Fanatic Sports Staff
As always, Chad and I only differ on a few games each week, and Week 5 is no different. As you'll see below, we differ on only two games this week. There is zero margin for either of us to win the week. As of right now, I have a 3 game lead on the season series as I'm 18-12 and Chad is an even 15-15.

NFL Season Picks: Chad & Jim

By Jim Ingram
Fan Fanatic Sports Staff
Well, technically the 2010 NFL season has already begun, but Chad and I wanted to make sure we got our predictions out prior to the first full day of the schedule. Despite the fact that Chad and I have different opinions on pretty much everything, we apparently seem to agree on what's going to happen this season. As you'll see below, we pick the exact same list of Division winners, as well as both the participants in the AFC & NFC Championship game, and even the Superbowl. We do, however, disagree on the outcome of that game. Well, enough of the build up, read below for our picks. Make sure to let us know what you think!

Week 7 Predictions: Pats Will Enjoy Week Off in London

By Dan Shouse
Fan Fanatic Sports Staff

For the first time this season, I am coming off a good week, posting an 11-3 record for week six. It's time to see if I can build off last week, or if it was just a fluke and I return to mediocrity. Now on to the picks.

Patriots 35 Buccaneers 14

The Patriots get a mid season vacation to London, as the Bucs have no chance in this one. The Bucs defense has been letting up a lot of big plays, and now they get to go against the Patriots coming off a 59-0 win a week ago. To make matters worse for the Bucs, this counts as one of their home games.

I tried to work a reference to "London Calling," by The Clash into this prediction, but figured anyone who will read this likely has never heard of The Clash, and I would have looked really old as a result.

Texans 31 49ers 21

Michael Crabtree finally plays this season, and Frank Gore returns from injury, but it will not be enough to help the 49ers get by the Texans. Matt Schaub will continue to impress, as he leads a potent Houston offense to victory.

Packers 38 Browns 7

The Browns have looked sick all year, and now they are literally sick, as a large part of the team apparently has the flu. Don't look for Green Bay to take it easy however, as the Pack will get an easy win in Cleveland.

Chargers 30 Chiefs 17

The Chargers have been one of the most disappointing teams in the NFL so far this season. No running game, and no defense, has the Chargers looking very average at best. Luckily the Chargers face the Chiefs this week, a team that is just what the doctor order for San Diego. The Chiefs have not been able to stop the run this season, and Matt Cassel hasn't exactly been on fire on offense. San Diego gets the win.

Colts 44 Rams 3

Talk about two teams headed in opposite directions. The Colts look like they could go undefeated, and the Rams look like they may not get a win this year. Remember, the Rams could not beat the Redskins. If you can't beat Washington, who can you beat? Certainly not the Colts. Peyton Manning will once again go over 300 yards as the Colts continue to look like the best team in the NFL.

Steelers 28 Vikings 24

In one of the better looking match ups this week, it will be Big Ben who gets the better of Brett Favre, handing the Vikings their first loss of the season. Its about time Favre comes back to earth, and starts doing what he does best - throwing ints.

Raiders 14 Jets 13

A few week back, the Jets looked like the real deal. Now, it looks like the Jets season could spiral out of control. Mark Sanchez struggled mightily last week, throwing 5ints. Things will not get any better this week against a solid Oakland defense. The Jets will also be without Kris Jenkins on the D-line. The Raiders will get just enough offense, and pull off another upset. Poor Rex Ryan.

Panthers 17 Bills 10

These two team are almost mirror images of each other. Both have bad quarterbacks (Jake Delhomme, Ryan Fitzpatrick) and unhappy diva receivers (TO, Steve Smith). Since this game is in Charlotte, I will pick the Panthers.

Bears 21 Bengals 17

Cedric Benson will have a solid game, but it will be Jay Cutler and the Bears getting the last laugh this week. If not for a pair of costly mistakes against the Falcons (Forte's fumble, false start penalty late in the 4th quarter) then the Bears could have beaten the Falcons a week ago. They will eliminate the mistakes this week and get the win in Cincy.

Falcons 27 Cowboys 23

This is the kind of game that Tony Romo needs to step up and win. Once again, he will fall short. The Falcons are a good club, and the Cowboys just don't measure up, especially at QB.

Saints 38 Dolphins 20

This may not be the Saints only trip to Miami this season. The offense will shine again, as New Orleans may be returning to South Florida later this season to play in the Super Bowl.

Giants 33 Cardinals 28

The Giants are poised to bounce back after a disappointing performance in New Orleans last time out. Plus factor in Arizona's struggles whenever they play on the east coast, and all signs point to a Giant victory.

Eagles 23 Redskins 6

What is Jim Zorn supposed to do now that the play calling has been taken away? Just stand there? The Eagles didn't play well last week, but its hard to imagine such a dysfunctional franchise such as Washington doing anything right.

Week 6 Picks: Patriots Bounce Back

By Dan Shouse
Fan Fanatic Sports Staff

Much like the Patriots last week, I turned in another mediocre performance, going 9-5 with my picks for the second straight week. Much like the Patriots, plan on a big turnaround this week. Here are this weeks picks.

Patriots 31 Titans 13

The Titans are just what the Patriots need, a team that cannot defend the pass. Peyton Manning picked the Titans apart last week, and Brady will do the same this week. It's a safe bet that Randy Moss will get more than one catch.

Texans 27 Bengals 14

It's time for the Bengals to come back down to Earth. I know that Cincy did a great job shutting down Joe Flacco and the Ravens last week, but Baltimore does not have the weapons that Houston does. Talent wins out, and Houston has too much. It is time for Houston to start living up to its potential.

Packers 28 Lions 10

There is just too much going against the Lions in this one. The Pack is coming off a bye, plus the game is in Green Bay. Factor in injuries to Matthew Stafford and Calvin Johnson, both are listed as questionable, and all signs point to an easy Packers win.

Vikings 21 Ravens 17

A few weeks back prior to the game against the Patriots, I said I was not sold on the Ravens. The last 2 weeks, which included losses to the Pats and Bengals, have certainly not made me feel any better about Baltimore. Now the Ravens head to Minnesota to take on Brett Favre and a surging Vikings team. Last week Cedric Benson ran all over the Ravens. Adrian Peterson should be able to do the same this week.

Saints 31 Giants 28

In the best match up of the week, the Saints will prove they are for real. Pierre Thomas has come back from injury and showed that he is an elite running back, plus Drew Brees is due for a big game. Eli Manning will taste defeat for the first time this season.

Steelers 35 Browns 0

Maybe Brady Quinn should take his home in Cleveland off the market, as he should be starting again soon. Derek Anderson had one of the worst games in NFL history last week, going 2 for 17 passing. Don't ask me how the Browns were able to win, but there will be no such mystery this week. A bad Browns offense against a solid Steelers defense? This one is a no-brainer.

Panthers 21 Buccaneers 13

The win streak continues for the Panthers. After picking up the win a week ago against the Redskins, the Panthers will make it two in a row this week in Tampa. The Bucs have been giving up some big plays this season. Look for Jake Delhomme to find Steve Smith for a pair of scores.

Chiefs 9 Redskins 3

The Lions and Panthers both picked up their first wins of the season against Washington. Now it is the Chiefs turn. I will give the Redskins some credit however. Carlos Rogers called out Dan Snyder this week for not being able to put a winning team on the field. It is about time the players revolt.

Jaguars 21 Rams 3

The Rams might not win a game this season, joining last years Lions as the only 0-16 teams in history. Marc Bulger is back, but it does not matter. Could Rush Limbaugh really do any worse if he owned the team?

Cardinals 35 Seahawks 24

Kurt Warner, Larry Fitzgerald, and Anquan Boldin will be too much for the Seahawks. The Cardinals have been a disappointment on offense so far this year. They won't be this week.

Eagles 44 Raiders 7

Donovan McNabb looked great against the Bucs last Sunday, and will be even better against the Raiders this week. Micheal Vick will see a lot of action this week, as McNabb and most of the Eagles starters will be able to take the 2nd half off and watch from the sidelines. The Raiders have so many issues on and off the field, that it is hard to imagine them being competitive the rest of this season.

Jets 28 Bills 6

Rex Ryan was not happy with his defense after Monday's loss at the hands of the Miami Dolphins. Expect Ryan and the Jets defense to take out its frustrations on the Bills. Is this TO's last game in Buffalo?

Falcons 24 Bears 21

Matt Ryan gets the best of Jay Cutler in the Sunday night game. The Falcons simply have better talent on offense, and will build off of last weeks impressive showing in San Francisco.

Chargers 23 Broncos 20

The Chargers need this win to stay within shouting distance of the Broncos in the AFC West. San Diego's owner called out Norv Turner and his players during the bye week. The Chargers will respond by handing Josh McDaniels his first loss as head coach. Plus, I would like to see McDaniels humbled a bit after pumping his fist and acting like he just won the Superbowl after beating the Patriots last Sunday.
